What does one say when one comes to a book expecting a very sweet little gift book and finds a masterpiece? Catching On is-to use Carol J. Morrison's own words-"a fly-fish song (that) has everything to do with fish and nothing to do with fish."

This is, of course, a book that a wife can give a fisherman husband or that fishing guy can give to his wife. Do not think, however, that this book is not a memoir as poignant and loving and human as any by Maya Angelou. Morrison takes us on a lovely romantic but realistic upside down romance that begins with marriage and ends with perfect union-a lifetime of partnership that sketches reality-anger, humor, love, jealousy and more-in deft strokes.

Fishing here is fishing, but it's also a metaphor. Like A River Runs Through It, this is a story that could sing to anyone who takes the time to listen. It would be a loss if it, like A River, is not made into a movie to feed the masses who don't read books. Carol J. Morrison is a superb writer and observers of life-including love, marriages, rivers and fish.
