"Confessions of a Movie Addict" is an interesting book that shows how movies touched a person's life, in particular, Ms. Tucker's life. It shows how Ms. Tucker became so involved in movies, how movies influenced her love life with her husband, how she became a movie critic, and how being a movie critic opened herself up to a wonderful movie world filled with interviews of actors and directors. This book includes interviews that Ms. Tucker has done with movie personnel such as: Bob Saget, Lauren Holly, Hector Elizondo, and Willem Dafoe. She includes movie websites that she finds interesting and concludes the book with her opinions of movies that were out in 2000 and 2001.

This reader feels that this is a creative way of telling the story of one's life. By picking out the main focus of what influenced a person tells an interesting tale of one's life. Ms. Tucker's writing is well-developed and easy to follow. Her opinions of the movies were interesting and fun to read how she has differed from some other film critics' opinions. Her interviews are interesting and some of them are very creative and bring a smile and a laugh to the reader's mouth. An overall enjoyable read that shows how important movies can be to people living in America, in particular, to Ms. Betty Jo Tucker.
