Companions in Courage
Triumphant Tales of Heroic Athletes
By Pat LaFontaine, Michael J. Fox, Chas Griffin (Contributor)

Pat LaFontaine was a world-renowned NHL hockey player. At the top of his game, he didn't count on a life-altering injury to have such as dramatic impact on his lifestyle and career. His struggle to overcome his head injury was what inspired him to write Companions in Courage: Triumphant Tales of Heroic Athletes.

This book is a vast collection of some of the most inspirational stories I have ever come across. What makes this book so unique and memorable is it deals with actual disabilities that we can relate to and associate with well-known athletes. Through the heartfelt forward delivered by actor Michael J. Fox, we gain a sense of understanding of what this courageous man is going through as he fights his own battle with Parkinson's Disease. This book contains sixty other heart rendering stories that are sure to play havoc with your emotions. Each tale will leave you with a greater appreciation of what obstacles mankind has been faced with, and how they gained the courage to conquer them.

I feel this book contains the substance that can change a person's outlook on life. I feel very fortunate that I was able to read and experience its hidden message. I would highly recommend it to any person who is facing his or her own obstacle or crisis. The warmth and encouragement you will get from these athletes as they tell of their own stories will give you the light needed to get past your darkest days.
