Genuine Authentic
The real life of Ralph Lauren
By Michael Gross

For a person who does not know all of the name brands or even in the appropriate fashion trends most of the time, this reviewer certainly does know the Ralph Lauren brand name. In Genuine Authentic, Michael Gross takes an inside look at Ralph Lauren's fashion empire, including Mr. Lauren's childhood and the ups and downs of Mr. Lauren's life, both professionally and personally.

Mr. Gross does a fair job in describing the story of Ralph Lauren. Mr. Gross does not make any attempts to make Mr. Lauren look like a good or bad man as some critics have described Ralph Lauren. Mr. Gross has obtained a lot of his information from Ralph Lauren himself and has tried and succeeded in giving the facts about Ralph Lauren and not opinions of how Mr. Lauren conducts himself professionally or in his personal life.

Genuine Authentic is an easy and thorough read. The timeline of Mr. Lauren's life is easy to follow and the reader will even learn things about the fashion industry that they might not have already known. Highly recommended for people wishing to enter the fashion industry or to learn about their favorite designer.
