The B.B. King Treasures
Photos, mementos, and music from the BB King Collection
by B.B. King and Dick Waterman
Riley B. King was born on Sept. 16, 1925 on a plantation in Mississippi. His parents were
sharecroppers. This book and cd are an amazing mark of respect to what will be Mr. King's
80th birthday this year. With vellum envelopes tucked between the pages that hold amazing
reproductions of memorabilia from B.B.'s life and travels. You can look at postcards and
sharecropper records as well as his business card and playbills. Christmas card and backstage
passes also find a place in this book of "Treasures". Throughout is a brief biography of
his life as well as pictures of him with family and friends. They range from pictures from
the cotton fields to pictures with the King of Sweden and the Pope.
A CD is also included in this Treasure that contains a welcome by B.B. himself as
well as interview material and some previously unreleased music. From Mississippi to
Memphis this is the story of a man who is a true gift to our society. Not only is he a
naturally talented musician but he is a man who believes that you should give more in
this life than you get. This book is a true tribute to this man as well as a gift to
us. There are pieces of history and pieces of culture contained in here with a glimpse
into the life of the "King of Blues". Happy 80th birthday B.B. King. This is a book
to be treasured. |
