Hello
to all That
A
memoir of war, Zoloft, and peace
By
John Falk
John
Falk has previously been known in the psychology world as the infamous
Patient X when the medication, Zoloft, was being tested. Mr. Falk
has suffered bouts of depression for years, and when he was ready
for help, he went through trials of Prozac and finally Zoloft. During
his depression, he tried to fit in at high school and in college.
He finally decided on going to Bosnia as a freelance reporter to
cover the war. Hello to all That is his memoir of the bouts of depression,
the war in Bosnia, and finally coming to a peaceful place in his
life.
Mr.
Falk takes a difficult state of mind, depression, and puts into
a clear sense for readers who have not known or had the experience
of depression. He is easily able to connect with readers and able
to discuss what he remembers when he first suffered from depression.
Mr.
Falk is able to explain why, while taking Zoloft, he decided to
enter the war-torn country of Bosnia and work as freelance reporter.
He explains in clear detail what he sees and about the people that
he befriends. Throughout Hello to all That, Mr. Falk goes back and
forth between his childhood and Bosnia. It is done in a clear way
so that readers will not be lost as the time period that he is trying
cover.
Hello
to all That is a testimonial that people who suffer from depression
can slowly move on with their lives, with some understanding and
help from friends and family.
