My
Son Is A Marine
by Jo Anne Allen
Jo Anne Allen has penned a very touching memoir of her son and his life so far. Her story
starts when, as a small child, A.J. is hit by a car. He had an out-of-body experience as
he lay near death in the hospital. The miracle that saved his life instilled a strong,
lifelong faith in God in both JoAnne and her son, Aaron Jacob Allen.
At 18 years old, A. J. enlisted in the toughest branch of the military...the U. S.
Marine Corps. As a Lance Corporal, A. J. was deployed to the fiercest battle zone in Iraq,
where terrorism was the order of the day, and there was no clearly defined enemy. His
heroism gave inspiration and another chance of life to the kids that fought at his side
when they were trapped in a wrecked truck that was about to blow up. The boys' unshakable
faith in God and their belief in their country, and all the things that it stands for,
helped to carry them through the rough times.
Constant letters between JoAnne and A.J. helped them both to keep their
spirits up and their faith intact...of course, Jo Anne's incredible
peanut butter cookies helped, too. The recipe is included in the
back of the book. This book would make a wonderful gift to anyone
who has a boy in the military, or you could bake up batches of the
cookies and send along with copies of this book to the men and women
who are fighting this battle for freedom. Proceeds from the sale
of this book will go to help support the US Troops, particularly
the injured at Walter Reed Hospital, and through Support
