"The Ex-boyfriend Cookbook" isn't what I'm sure most of you are thinking. It doesn't tell you how to fricassee your ex, but it does give some great recipes that will help ease the pain of an excruciating break up.

There are 6 different sections. Each one has an interesting title that fits the recipes contained in them.

Section 1 - Sweet Things - This one is my personal favorites for many reasons…one being the recipe for "Clarence's Frozen Peanut Butter Pie". This chapter holds the recipes for the dessert-addicted, but is not the only section with dessert recipes, as you will see.

Section 2 - Sort of Fluffy Things - This one has some more dessert ideas along with some other recipes like "Wimpy Eddie Plinkett's Manly Quiche". There are some VERY interesting background stories in this section.

Section 3 - Savory Things - This one has a lot of salad recipes and things like "Dan's Deviled Eggs" and "Sonny's Magical Squash Casserole".

Section 4 - Spicy Things - This one has a lot of main-course meals like The "Blackened Red Snapper James Said He Would Make and Never Did".

Section 5 - Slippery Things - This one is filled with various recipes like "Kurt's BBQ Marinade" and "Keith the Pathological Liar's Cold Remedy".

Section 6 - Substantial Things - This one holds the recipes for all the big dishes like "Bailey's Flank Steak" and "Ezra's Sticky Chicken".

"The Ex-Boyfriend Cookbook" is an awesome companion for girls who love to cook and love to drown their sorrows with a nice, sweet dessert…or in some cases, two. Not only are the recipes pretty easy and delicious, some of the stories that go along with each recipe are drenched in humor. Even the recipes themselves have a dash of spicy wit added. These two ladies have done a masterful job in collecting recipes from ex-boyfriends, their moms, their grandmas, and even some guys that they didn't date but couldn't help but realize the effect their food had on the women who visited them. (See Jim Mossberger's Morning After Coffee Cake in the Sort of Fluffy Things section.)
I highly recommend this book.
