The
BLT Cookbook
Our Favorite Sandwich
By Michele
Anna Jordan
Bacon,
Lettuce, and Tomato: the three main ingredients in the all-American
BLT sandwich. Usually topped with mayonnaise, this sandwich is one
of the most loved, not to mention one of the easiest to make, any
one has ever had the pleasure of trying. So how in the world could
someone come up with a cookbook based on a sandwich that only uses
5 different ingredient--all of which take only 2 to 3 minutes to
combine? Easy! Just take this tasty classic recipe, add some twists
and a dash of imagination, and voilé!
From
BLT on a stick and BLT soups like Butter Lettuce Soup with Bacon
and Tomato to the Fisherman’s BLT and BLT inspired salads
like Potato Salad Bacon and Tomatoes, Jordan has come up with amazing,
drool-worthy recipes, all based around the most famous sandwich
ever invented.
I
love this cookbook! The recipes are easy to do and so original that
even someone whose only cooking history involved burning water would
have a hard time messing them up. Jordan includes the history of
the BLT and goes into what gave the inspiration for the recipe in
each chapter. I could hardly keep my stomach from growling instinctively
as I read through this. I definitely recommend this book for anyone
who’s interested in putting a twist on their favorite sandwich.
