Freedom
Is Fr Those Willing to Defend It
By Helene
Ensign Mau
This
is the account of twelve Utah men's experiences in World War II,
the
Korean War and Vietnam; men who faced adversity, imprisonment, torture,
deprivation with courage, integrity and honor. These stories contain
vivid and graphic accounts of men's experiences which touch the
heart and mind of the reader and in some instances, cause tears.
One is made to realize what some have given to preserve our way
of life.
That
man can perform such acts of courage, withstanding the trauma of
torture, or surviving the horrors of combat is amazing. These stories
give evidence to the resilience of the human spirit. What sacrifices
these men made in service to their country create debts of honor
no one can repay.
To
read these well-presented accounts is to experience vicariously
the experiences of these men. This is another Profiles in Courage
which deserves a place on the book shelf of every thinking American.
