Liberty in Troubled Times
A Libertarian Guide to Laws, Politics and Society in a Terrorized World

by James Walsh

James Walsh has written a great book about our attitude and political needs in this country. When the very first people came here from England, they had certain ideals of what they thought a country should be and what principals must be adhered in order to have the type of place they sought to live in to be happy and contented. They overcame much to plod along that general direction of growth. This book brings back many of those basics and helps a whole new generation figure out what is happening to this country that so many have fought and died for, and why. Politics are a necessary evil, just by virtue of the rules that keep mankind in motion and able to behave within a certain framework and get along with each other. However, politics have become far too controlling and focused on peripheral issues that are not always the ones we need to have worked on. We as a nation should get back to some of those ideals so this county and our people can rightfully enjoy the mindset that our forefathers envisioned for us.

Liberty in Troubled Times is a comprehensive book with many ways of looking at how this country has veered off-course over the last 200+ years. It delves into the fundamental concepts and new laws that have come about or old laws that have re-surfaced, been re-written, or been re-emphasized over the last 50-60 years, that could be taken literally when they may have been written more as a deterrent than to be an end all for those looking to prosecute. There used to be a fine definition between political parties; however, Mr. Walsh has gone to the edges of the demarcation lines and found that there is very little difference anymore. The lines are all blurred and slurred so that the average Joe American no longer feels like his party is worth supporting, but neither is the opposing party, for they subscribe to almost the same things. It is just a polarizing of the issues such as Medicare, or now the Immigration issues, that differentiate the parties of today's America. That is not always the best way to be; our country was founded on the principle of working together to change the climate, not working against each other to forge a chasm. There should be some study of the issue-based needs we face, and the political parties should take stands they believe in based on those things, not just to suit an agenda designed to split apart the foundations of the norm that we all live by. Right Wings and Left Wings really need to get off the sidelines and come to the middle of the game and participate in accordance with the needful motives.

If you are a Libertarian, you probably hold these beliefs already in your mind and heart. If you are a Republican or Democrat, some of what is in this book may open your eyes and you will see clearly what the real issues are that should be driving this country. If you want to read something that is comprehensive and well-written about things that we should all be taught in civics, as senior class problems in high school, or in political science in college, then pick up this book and go through it with your eyes wide open. To see what is really going on and why, read Liberty In Troubled Times...
