James Schefter was a reporter assigned to cover NASA, the space program, and the lives of those behind it all. The information he reveals in the book from first hand knowledge, but only now being able to reveal, will both captivate you and astonish you.

Yes, the United States was the first to land on the moon, but not without the collective efforts of scientist around the world. From German Scientists in early 1950's at Fort Bliss, Texas developing scientific research, to one small step for mankind, James Schefter paints a colorful picture of sacrifice and dedication and what it really took for all of mankind in the world, to put a man on the moon. But it took the United States to get them there.

I found "The Race" fascinating and hard to put down. Five Stars to Mr. Schefter for sharing the details and events with us.
