I hardly know what category in which to put this book, since it has UFOs and aliens and it is also classic Stephen King.  I do know, however, that despite the abundance of profanity, it is one of Mr. King's finest works.

Set in the Maine north woods and the town of Derry, it is the story of four men, childhood friends, who were ordinary fourteen-year-olds until they met Douglas "Duddits" Cavell and rescued him from the cruelty of four senior boys.  Peter Moore, Joe "Beaver" Clarendon, Henry Devlin and Gary "Jonesy" Jones did a brave thing when they stood up to the older and bigger boys to spare the Downs Syndrome victim.  It would change them forever.

Duddits changed them completely.  Through him, they could see and understand things no one around them could.  It was and ability that would stand them in good stead when Pete, Jonesy, Beaver and Henry made their annual hunting trip to the Clarendon cabin, Hole in the Wall, in the north woods.  When Rick McCarthy and Becky Shue crossed their paths, their world turned upside down.

Oh, yes, there is a Dreamcatcher in the story, and it even plays a pivotal role.  "What role is that?" you ask.  You will just have to read the book to find out.  Be prepared to be scared out of your wits.  And pray that no one ever mentions the word "byrus" in connection with your health.

Pleasant dreams!
