Angel
series

Durgin
Angel Investigations come around from
a daze, all covered in blood, and cannot remember what they have
been doing. Obviously there must have been a fight, but there are
no wounds, and subsequent experiments prove that they all seem to
have acquired superhuman healing powers. All except Angel, who ought
to already have them, but appears to have lost his! When a strange
creature looking like Yoda turns up and tells Angel what has happened,
he is reduced to keeping it all a secret, for his human companions
love having these new powers, even if they do come with some odd
side effects
Buffy & Angel novels are usually
packed with action, wit, and inventive situations, but this one
seems to be a little thin on all three counts. There isn't quite
enough of a story and what there is tends to be repetitive, as is
the dialogue. More plot strands would have been a good plan, also
a bit more suspense. However, it is interesting to see how the characters
react to the situation and ponder on what the topsy-turvy role reversal
is doing for them. It is a neat idea, but just not quite up to the
usual standard.
