Did you know that gel
candles are made up of 95% mineral and 5% resin? They're also transparent,
easy to clean up, and burn longer than wax candles! This book has 40 creative
projects for candle lovers.
Chapter 1 tells what
candle gel is, what equipment you need, and10 easy steps to follow, from
setting up the workspace, through the process of creating the candles,
to cleaning up. Candle gel is flammable so the author gives prevention
tips for creating the candles without having any accidents.
Chapter 2 takes you
through container choices, offers wisdom on wicks, and adding fragrance,
color, and embellishments. The nice thing about it is that everything
with the exception of wicks can be found around the house.
Chapter 3 contains everything
from the simplest to the most elaborate of projects, but all are easy
to make.
In chapters 4-6, the
ideas become more extravagant and extreme than one can imagine. There's
no end to the possibilities.
The back information
has crafting as a business and two pages of mail order resources to buy
supplies for making gel candles. Most of them can be found online.
After trying these different
projects, it'll be hard to go back to wax candles. This is a book filled
with never-ending gift giving ideas. They're easy to make, great for the
color coordinator within, and make wonderful projects for parents and
teens to do together.
