Transferring
Designs
By By Simon
Raw-Rees & Mick Kelly
Whatever kind of craftsperson or artist
you are, there will come a time when you wish to transfer some of
your work to another surface. Of course there are lots of ways of
doing this, but until Lazertran there wasn't anything perhaps as
versatile. This book shows you how to put your flat, paper-based
work onto a truly large range of different surfaces--from fabric
to stone, candles to polymer clay. All you need is access to a photocopier;
oh, if only it had been a colored inkjet printer, as I am sure many
folk without immediate access to one will be saying, but nothing
in this life is ever perfect! This having been done, the rest of
the process is very simple and the product has the advantage of
being easy to obtain, as it is available via the internet as well
as via any clued-up craft shop. Just log onto www.lazertran.com
for a user-friendly site with some ideas to tantalize as well as
the product itself.
This is one of those lavishly-illustrated
but easy to use books that makes me want to grab some piece of artwork
and get cracking. There are various-staged projects which manage
to be fairly general, yet convey the simplicity but diversity of
the slightly differing methods for the different surfaces and lots
of highly imaginative and professional-looking end products to drool
over. A lovely book--in fact, one of my favorite craft books to
appear for some time and sure to appeal to a very wide range of
people. Enjoyable and accessible for all levels.
