Embroidery on Paper For Every Occasion
By Joke and Adriaan
de Vette
If you enjoy embroidery on paper
and are fed up with the majority of the books being in Dutch then
this English translation is for you! There are truly cards in here
for just about every occasion, from major holidays such as Christmas
and Easter to cards depicting the beauties of nature, whimsical
animals for children and even a few for that hardest to please group
- teenage boys.
This is a beautiful book with line
illustrations at the head of each chapter, lots of color photographs,
and something for everybody. Even if the idea of actual “embroidery”
is anathema then the simple diagrams at the beginning ought to lay
any fears at rest that this is really more than going up one hole
and down another – it is easy, relaxing and very addictive.
Some of the less obvious patterns even have helpful guidelines showing
where to stitch. I’ve got quite a few books on embroidery
on card in my collection, but this immediately became my favorite.
