Oriental Flower Designs
By Polly Pinder

Floral motifs are always popular, and seem to have been so for almost as long as people have been drawing. Here is a compendium of mainly A4 sized designs from the Far East that are sure to have a wide range of applications. Adorn your summer clothes, make a wall hanging, bedspread, curtains, or mosaic (use your imagination and supply the craft of your choice) with bamboos, chrysanthemums, paeonies, willows and stylized motifs. Shrink them for smaller items such as greetings cards, and use the repeat borders and circular designs for jewelry. Although these designs are detailed enough, they ought to be still usable at about a quarter of their size in most cases, making this a versatile book.

The standard of the artwork here is high, and all the designs are usable as they are stunning and eye-catching work. This title should have a wide appeal therefore, and be of great use to beginners who are not confident enough for adapting a picture and prefer to use it as it is. As usual with this series, you are free to use the designs for your personal use or sell the items you make for charity BUT these are NOT public domain, so no commercial use permissible. An attractive and user-friendly addition to the series.
