The Ultimate Design Source Book For Crafters

by Various

If you are looking for designs to inspire you then this book is going to be very useful, whatever your chosen craft or art form. Here is a vast compendium (I don’t know how much it weighs, but I wouldn’t care to carry it very far) that might just make your coffee table legs give up the ghost, bursting with useful, copyable designs. There are borders, alphabets, flourishes and motifs; flora and fauna of various types including fantasy, the styles from many civilizations and periods as well as Christmas, Halloween and wedding.

This is a boon for anybody who admires the Design Source Library books (many titles reviewed on this site) but lacks the space or funds to own them all. Just looking through them is enough to start the creative juices flowing, and at the front is a helpful list of themes covered, as well as a thumb-able reminder on the top of every page. As usual these designs are mainly fairly large, so if miniatures are your bag then this might be less useful than if you make waistcoats for example. From personal experience these detailed designs tend to enlarge better than they decrease, but as you are permitted to copy them, that means that the sizes can easily be altered. As ever, this is a useful and user-friendly resource for crafters.
