The Victory Garden Companion
by Michael Weishan, Laurie Donnelly
Victory Garden's latest host, Michael Weishan, brings PBS Victory Garden
viewers nine chapters of ideas and visual motivation for their gardens. Each chapter addresses
something gardeners address or desire in their gardens. There are various subjects: the
value of views, the interest in exits, braving the elements of weather, fixtures and
features for the garden, lawns, the power of flowers, mixing eatable gardens with flowers
and such, berry gardens, and urban gardens -which, by the way, have some spectacular views.
With each chapter, Weishan offers weekend projects with easy instructions. At the end
of each chapter is an "Inspired Garden." These are truly awe inspiring. There's so much
information and inspiration; it's a book to enjoy all year 'round. My favorite is the
succulent idea. I saw it on the show and can appreciate having it on my shelf, within
reach, to quickly share with others.
The Victory Garden Companion will help you create a front yard to be proud of
and a back yard to either share or covet. Discover your garden or create a secret one
on your balcony. |
