The Ultimate Insider's Guide to Adoption is a wonderful, highly informative book that covers all aspects of domestic and international adoption, as well as providing the most comprehensive, up-to-date information on the adoption process available on the market today. Just a few of the topics covered for the prospective parent(s) are: whether a domestic or international adoption is right for you; the home study process; the financial aspects of adoption; preparing for parenthood and bringing your child home. In addition, the author provides a comprehensive (over 100 pages) list of resources. Ms. Falker writes with a great deal of sensitivity and humor, which is understandable as she has helped and supported parents during their adoption process. What I enjoyed most about this book is Ms. Falker’s frank, thorough, and often humorous discussion of the adoption process. As a parent of two internationally adopted children myself, I can safely say Elizabeth Swire Falker covers almost everything an aspiring adoptive parent needs to know about the steps required in becoming an adoptive parent. I highly recommend The Ultimate Insider's Guide to Adoption. |
