Brighten up your home with a whole range of room-transforming pillows and cushions. With no patterns and lots of foolproof ways of doing things you don't need too much sewing knowledge to make some attractive and gift quality soft furnishings.

This book is all about having fun while sewing and getting the finished product together as simply and quickly as possible. There are no patterns to resize on your computer or copier, instead measure your cushion bat and follow the instructions. This makes perfect sense as I have realized during my own cushion making forays that there is no such thing as a standard size bat. You will also get plenty of opportunities to use up not only scraps of fabric, trimmings, ribbon and buttons but also old baby clothes, cardigans and more. Discover a very simple way of putting in a zip, how to avoid actually having to do this at all (envelope backs) and a "cheat's way" of making an Oxford cushion cover. There are pleats, felt flowers, ribbon weaving, patchwork and gathered frills to adorn your work and in general a happy, sunny feel about the whole book. It made me want to make cushions and I don't even need any so I can recommend this to anybody who wants to have a go at this type of thing and thinks that it might be too difficult for them.
