Oliver, MyShelf.com This is a book that takes a look at a Bipolar disorder (manic-depressive) survivor and how she used her belief in God to survive. Ms. Darhower uses her own personal beliefs and values of God and applies them to how she lives day by day with Bipolar. Ms. Darhower incorporates what she wants to say and the Scriptures very well. She does a great job in showing what her symptoms have been and what she has done to get through them. She emphasizes that reading the Scriptures and believing in God is what has helped her. At times, it does seem like the book is preaching and if one is not a true believer in God, this might not be the book for them. There is limited information on medications that are used in dealing with Bipolar. If you suffer from Bipolar, have a strong belief in God, and are looking for a way to cope with the disorder, then this book will be extremely beneficial to you. If you are trying to find ways of coping with Bipolar and are willing to look at all venues, then pick up this book. |
