Holidays
on Ice
By David
Sedaris
If you
have read or listened to any of Dave Sedaris's books, you already
know he has a wonderful, and yet unique sense of humor. His newest
re-release, Holidays on Ice, is no exception.
Dave
takes his everyday experiences and all of life's little ups and
downs ands retells them in such a way as to leave the reader breathless,
not with fear or anxiety, but with good old belly-hurting laughter.
Holidays
on Ice is 6 stories told about the Christmas holidays. The first,
"Santaland Diaries" is told about when Dave applied for
and received a job as a Christmas elf at the famous Macy's on Harold
Square in New York City, The results are two hilarious stories about
elf-training and lots of other hilarity that comes with being a
grown man, dressed in green tights during the busiest holiday of
the year.
The
remaining stories are no less funny. I would gladly recommend that
anyone pick up a copy to read during the Christmas holidays. It
may reinforce your holiday spirits or cause you to look at some
irritating circumstances with a bit more of a light heart. This
is one book that is guaranteed to put a smile on even the meanest
old Scrooge.
