Getting Through The Tough Stuff
By Charles R. Swindoll
It's a fact that no matter how long we live or who we are, life
has a way of throwing us curves. Sometimes they're simply annoyances,
but sometimes they fit in the 'killer hardball' category, knocking
our feet out from under us.
In his
new book, Dr. Charles Swindoll speaks, from a Christian perspective,
to those suffering through heartaches, and encourages them not to
give up. He deals specifically with issues including anxiety, temptation,
being misunderstood, shame, confrontation, doubt, divorce, and death
as well as other challenges that will confront most of us if we
live long enough on planet earth.
He goes
into great detail to explain how Jesus endured the same struggles,
and how he dealt with each one, and in the end, comforts us with
the truth that Jesus promises never to leave us alone when we're
hurting.
From a candid,
slightly irreverent point of view, Swindoll injects a refreshing
and yet scriptural note of encouragement, giving hope that, through
Christ, we as believers, cannot only survive, but thrive in the
middle of our struggles. Highly recommended.
