Gifts of the Spirit
By Cate Cavanagh

I began to read Gifts of the Spirit with a bit of apprehension. As a pretty traditional “Christian,” I wasn’t sure how much of the material would be pertinent, since it is purported to cover various aspects of different religions and beliefs.

The author has a very warm, inspiring voice to her writing. She speaks with the authority of having passed many hardships in her own life, yet she comes out of these experiences with a great deal of faith and warmth that only helps to embellish the lives of the reader. She gleans the good from a multitude of creeds, including Native American, Buddhist, Reiki, Wicca and others. Rather than trying to implant strange ideas into the reader’s mind, she manages to build on whatever faith the reader has.

I came away greatly blessed by Gifts of the Spirit. I highly recommend this book for any reader of any walk of faith. It will only serve to enhance that belief, and it will help with promoting tolerance of people who hold to other beliefs.
