The Gift of Change
Spiritual Guidance for a Radically New Life

By Marianne Williamson
Read by Marianne Williamson

Williamson uses life experiences to grow and transform the world around us into a place that we will want to inhabit. She starts simple, by having the listener take a look at where he/she is and what is holding him/her back from making changes. A major point that she makes is that it is up to us to make changes in our lives and that this will impact the entire world. She uses the example of a butterfly moving its wings in South America and how it affects the wind currents around the world.

She moves the listener from concentrating on negative feelings to making strides toward positive change and reminds us what we were, and not what we have become. The listener begins with small manageable steps, and later moves with confidence to making more changes.

The spiritual changes Williamson wants us to develop can be used by Christians, as well as Buddhists and people from other major religions. She does not downplay any religion, but encourages us to use our own beliefs to make positive changes.

Williamson is passionate in her speech and is very encouraging to the listener. Her tone- of-voice is pleasant to listen to, and you will enjoy her voice, as well as her message.

This is an excellent book to listen to, but listen in a quiet place so you can appreciate Williamson's message. The best way is to listen to the CDs in their entirety, then go back and review the chapters to make any changes in your life. This way you have an overview of the book and are free to skip around to find the order that is easiest for you to apply it to your life.
