Losers
and Winners Saints and Sinners
How
to Finish Strong in the Spiritual Race
By
Greg Laurie
In
his new book, Losers and Winners, Saints and Sinners, How to
Finish Strong in the Spiritual Race, Author Greg Laurie actually
made me cry.
In
fact, of all the books I've read and reviewed lately, his hit home,
ringing with a rarely told truth-- that we Christians have but one
goal. Not to find our purpose for its own sake, but to draw near
to God and glorify Him till the end. It's not about us; it's all
about Him. That's it in a nutshell.
Often
lately, I've read good books on this same subject of finishing well
or finding purpose, but this one is a standout.
Author
Greg Laurie doesn't promise us, as the saying goes, a rose garden
or that everything will always be great, but he gives us hope that
no matter how bad things get, we are never alone, never far from
the love of our marvelous God.
He
gives hope to the wounded, the downcast, the troubled and the sinner,
reminding us that we have a God of second chances, who redeems whatever
we offer Him. That He takes our ashes and makes them gold as we
simply get into harmony with God, and live in sync with His purpose
for us--to glorify Him until the very end.
This
is a book I can recommend with my whole heart, because it's balanced
and tells the whole truth--that you can I can be overcomers only
by the power of God, as we draw near to Him and live according to
His principles of righteousness. Five stars to Greg Laurie for simply
telling it like it is.
