When God Speaks to My Heart
A Daybook of Personal Moments with God

by Rosalie Willis

"God created you for loving fellowship. You are precious to Him and He longs to spend time with you. Today and every new day ahead...allow Him access to your heart---your life will be wonderfully changed forever."

Others' demands, harried schedules, traffic jams. Life often presents so many daily challenges that I wonder how I find time to breathe. Sometimes I would be so flustered or exhausted that I failed to squeeze God into my schedule. I dearly missed His presence.

Since I received When God Speaks to My Heart: A Daybook of Personal Moments with God by Rosalie Willis, He has again become a top priority. How does a simple book make such a difference?

This may sound shallow, but the beautiful cover attracts my attention every night as I turn down my bedcovers. The hazy clock in the background encourages me to lay the day to rest, and the bright hyacinths remind me that God's hope springs forth, waiting for just a few moments of my time.

My desire to feel God's mercy compels me to reach out for His words. Undoubtedly, the Bible is the ultimate resource, but most nights The Good Book requires more concentration than I have left. Author Rosalie Willis has erased my concern that I might misinterpret God's message by translating Biblical verses into letters from God, each of which begins "My (Precious) Child," and ends with a concise salutation such as "Be at peace, My Child. Your (Loving) Father." As if the letters' cherished tone isn't enough to encourage communing with Him, Ms. Willis also includes a prayer of gratitude and the actual scripture.

Devoting a few minutes each night has reaped a bountiful harvest. I feel a renewed intimacy with God, I sleep more peacefully and I face the days with more confidence in my faith.

The frosting on the cake, especially for the anally retentive such as I am, is that each entry bears no calendar date. Though I received the book in August, I began with the Day One. The book contains blank pages in the back where I can journal or note page numbers of specific passages for times of need.

If you seek to foster a closer relationship with our Father, get a copy of When God Speaks to My Heart: A Daybook of Personal Moments. While reading the daily devotionals, I feel God's love embracing me in His warmth, and I believe that you will, too.
