In the introduction, Mary Grace Birkhead talks about going through her mother's jewelry
as a child, playing dress up and having a tea. She sees the promises in the Book of Psalms
as jewels to be treasured.
"The Book of Psalms is like going through one of God's jewelry boxes. Psalms is a
picture of all human emotions - from sadness, anger, fear, longing, and confusion to
praying, resting, rejoicing, singing, and laughing." -- Beautifully Penned Promises
This charming inspirational is aimed at female audiences of faith. In it Birkhead reminds
Christian women of their heritage as daughters of the King of Kings. She quotes various
psalms and reminds readers of hope, peace, and much, much more. Below each scripture the
author pens her thoughts.
The book is designed by Bill Chiaravalle in the "boho" design, which is retro, groovy,
earthy, and eclectic. It looks like contemporary mixed with Victorian to me. The artist
uses a pastel palate of yellow, greens, blues, and lavender. Patterned pages opposite
of the scripture show pictures of various jeweled pins on jewelry boxes. They are a delight
to behold.
Beautifully Pinned Promises is part of the Heirloom Promises series - a series
for women of all ages.
