My Book of Life
A Companion Piece
Nursing Rhymes & Nursery Crimes for Adults

by Oluwadahunsi

My Book of Life (A Companion Piece) Nursing Rhymes & Nursery Crimes for Adults is similar to My Book of Life (A Companion Piece) Little Pieces of Heaven, but this collection contains well-known nursery rhymes with adaptations to convey Christian or moral messages.

The author hopes that readers will read and share these with children. In his introduction, the author states, "Truth is basic. If we restore the right baby steps the adult will be better."

The author inserted the original titles to the rhymes to help in recollection of the tunes that go with the rhymes. These rhymes would certainly be useful in Sunday school lessons, because children are receptive to rhymes and especially ones that start out with familiar material and end with a religious note. Two examples follow:

Tom. Tom: Nursing Rhyme

Tom, Tom, the Piper's son
Stole a pig and away did run
Then found Christ and was reborn
Took back the pig and cried
"I'll sin no more."

Yankee Doodle: Nursing Rhyme

Yankee Doodle came to town
Riding on a pony
Stuck a fellow in his heart
And said, "I'm with Christ only."

Both collections are printed in all caps. I would suggest that the material be published in the conventional style.
