Chicken Soup for the College Soul is a book that all college students
should read. It has stories over everything you encounter after High School
from getting into college to finally graduating and everything in-between.
The stories are written by hundreds of different authors, actors, singers,
doctors, and anyone else who had to go through the trials of college.
I really liked the stories I have read so far. I haven’t finished
the book yet, but I don’t like to rush through a book with such
a wonderful and important set of stories that can help me make my college
life a little less stressful.
My favorite poem is by Cheryl Costello-Forshey. She writes a lot of stories
and poems for the many Chicken Soup For The Soul books. The poem
is called The “No Hug” Rule. It’s about her son as he
grew up. She tells about the “no hug” rule that he had. I
wish I could say more about the poem, but I would give away the wonderful
ending. It’s one of the many memorable, heart-warming stories in
this book.
I really suggest this book for anyone in college who is away from home
and wants something to help keep them strong. Some of the stories will
touch your heart so greatly that you will find yourself drenched in the
memories of when you were younger and wishing that you could be at home
fishing with dad or helping mom. I know that this book will touch a special
place in your heart just as it did in mine.
