In those days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying
and giving their children to be married, until the day Noah entered the
boat. They knew nothing about what was happening until the flood
came and destroyed them. It will be the same when the Son of man
comes. (Matthew 24:38-39)
This is what Max Lucado’s new book “When Christ Comes,”
is about. I found it both challenging and enlightening.
The part that stirred me most was when Max Lucado spoke of Oscar Schindler,
who saved as many Jews as possible and employed them in a factory until
the end of the Nazi Regime. When the Nazi era came to an end Schindler
walked out of his factory. All those whose lives had been blessed and
touched by him were lined up on each side creating a pathway to thank
him. The same will happen to us as we step into heaven, all the
people whose lives we have blessed will create a pathway to say thanks.
Just as he told his disciples about 2000 years ago, Jesus is coming back.
Max Lucado is good reading. His work is comforting, yet stirring
at same time. Max Lucado share’s good company with one of
my other favorite authors Charles Stanley in getting ‘His’
message out.
