Daisy Says Here We
Go 'Round the Mulberry Bush Reviewed by: Beverly
J. Rowe, MyShelf.com Simmons has done it again with these marvelous board books for preschoolers. Pictorial tabs help children go directly to their favorite part of the books as they sing along on these classic children's action songs. Daisy the duck is always happy and the full-color illustrations show it as Daisy teaches children to "oink" like a pig, "buzz" like a bee and "squeek" like a mouse if they are happy. Kids will bounce, and pounce and hop "so early in the morning" in "Here We Go Around the Mulberry Bush," a delightful new version of one of our favorite childhood classic songs. Happy childhood memories are created this way, and you will enjoy reading it to the little ones over and over again. "Quack, Daisy, Quack" features our favorite characters from previous Daisy adventures as Daisy and her little brother Pip visit Aunt Lily. It's a noisy, rowdy story about lots of youngsters chasing bees, birds, mice and other barnyard friends and making as much noise as they want to. When Daisy can't find Mama, the tension is high. This is a delightful story, just right for spring. I was especially intrigued to learn that Jane Simmons lives on a wooden fishing boat off the coast of Cornwall, England. She is a very talented lady. |
