At last, we learn who the mysterious Lemony Snicket is...or do we?? In a truly entertaining addition to his Series of Unfortunate Events, Lemony Snicket leads us on another wild, teasing trip through his imagination. The fun starts with the reversible dust jacket on the book showing "The Luckiest Kids in the World: The Pony Party" on one side, and a brown paper wrapper disguise on the other, and advising the reader to make use of the disguise immediately, as it may be "your only hope!" The book follows through with the same sense of despair and woe that we have come to love in Lemony's other books.

This book is part of a series that should be read in order, reading the Unauthorized Autobiography only after reading at least a few of the Unfortunate Events books...it probably wouldn't make much sense if it was read first...or come to think of it, maybe not even later. Fans of Lemony Snicket's previous books will love this one. My grandsons and I howled with laughter, but such is our weird sense of humor.

Black and white photographs with interesting inscriptions like W?H?O? and Snicket? illustrate the book, and a chapter on disguise training. There is even an index (but don't actually use it to try to look something up in the book!).

For those readers who have unfortunate, boring lives, I highly recommend this hilarious book that raises more questions about Lemony Snicket than it answers.
