Ray-Ray's Dream is based on the true story of a little boy who was born addicted to alcohol, cocaine and heroin, and infected with AIDS. Abandoned in a welfare system that judged him not worth the paperwork, since he would not survive until his first birthday, he was taken in by a foster mother that cared. He was four years old when he died, but with his Mother's encouragement he dreamed of a better life for all children. Through his foster Mother's efforts, and her great love for Ray-Ray, his short life was not in vain. She founded camp Ray-Ray, an annual retreat for families affected by HIV/AIDS. The proceeds of this book will help to fund Camp Ray-Ray.

This book is about the value of each child and their unique gifts to the world, and about the wish of a small boy for a world where every child could be loved and happy, and the certainty that God provides such a world. Mommy calls it "Heaven."

Only a stone heart would not respond to this book that is designed to be read to children as inspiration for them to believe in their dreams. A section is included in the back of the book for parents, teachers and administrators listing sources for information and organizations for support and life enrichment of children who have life-threatening illnesses, and the National Adoption Center.
