I Love the Night
By Dar Hosta

I Love the Night is a wonderful children's book written and illustrated by Dar Hosta. Ms. Hosta is a multitalented woman. Having gown up with a father who worked in the commercial art business and a mother who was not only a psychologist but also a very artistic person, how could Dar but anything but talented?

She acquired a college degree in Creative Writing. She chose to stay home after her first son was born and soon discovered her artistic side taking over. She did a large variety of crafts but soon discovered she had a talented for collage art.

Dar soon became a very well known collage artist, selling not only the originally pieces but giclee prints of these pieces as well. In writing and illustrating I Love the Night , Ms. Hosta has managed to combine her creative writing along with her collage art.

I Love the Night is a fun book about nocturnal creatures that venture forth after the sun goes down. The fun begins with a pair of crickets making their melodious moonlight music; soon there are playful fireflies darting through the sky. Then Ms. Dar plunges to the depths of the ocean to introduce the reader to an octopus, and then up into the treetops for one of my favorites: a tree frog. The story continues with many beautiful collages illustrating each and every page. The book comes to a lovely ending by wishing the reader sweet dreams.

Can't you imagine reading and sharing this book with your little one?
