What Are You So Grumpy About
By Tom Lichtenheld

Lichtenheld knows what makes kids grouchy, as well as several sure ways to cure them of their grouchiness. This very funny book reminds the adults what a traumatic experience it is to have the gravy touch the peas on your dish and having someone make you laugh, when you really wanted to be grumpy.

A marvel of hilarious full color illustrations that show just how gross it is to have your brother or sister touch you, and the indignity of having to wear an outfit that looks goofy, this book is a great read-aloud bedtime book. The endpapers are filled with funny antidotes for grumpiness, and the dustjacket has an illustration to help you tell if you are grumpy.

Tom Lichtenheld has also written Everything I Know About Pirates, and Everything I Know About Monsters. He's a very talented writer and illustrator who really knows kids. We laughed all the way through it when I read it to grandchildren...and the one child who makes a career of grumpiness was laughing loudest of all.
