David and Goliath
By Jean Marzollo

I really enjoyed this wonderful version of the Bible story, David and Goliath; the story of the Israelite shepherd boy who killed the giant champion of the Philistines with his slingshot, and God's help of course. This story takes on a whole new meaning in Marzollo's version. David accepted the giant's challenge when none of the Israelite soldiers would confront him. Goliath had been challenging the soldiers for forty days, and each day they just ran away. Goliath laughed when he saw David coming with only his slingshot and a handful of rocks.

The full-color drawings by the author will put a smile on your children's faces. The tiny lambs that frolic across the bottom of each page discuss the action throughout the book and add chuckles to this beautiful Bible story.

Marzollo is a genius at presenting Biblical stories in a manner that appeals to young children, and still gets the story across in a memorable way.

Add this great book to your gift list for your favorite children, and be sure to share the joy of reading it with them.
