The
Disappearance
W.I.T.C.H.
series, No. 2
Adapted by Elizabeth Lenhard
With Cornelia’s friend Elyon’s and her parents’
disappearing act, shortly after she became friends with the strange
bookshop owner, and Hay-Lin’s wise grandmother falling extremely
ill and dying, the girls are in a state of shock. As if things couldn’t
get any worse, the girls float in between reality and their thoughts
until they find out that another student, Irma’s CRUSH no
less, has ALSO disappeared. Will they be able to figure out what
happened to their quiet friend Elyon and cutie Andrew before the
big baddies (they ran into the night they were supposed to meet
Elyon at the gym) get hold of them? Will Cornelia, Taranee, Irma,
Will, and Hay-Lin get past the slowly growing distances between
each other before the group and the world are destroyed by the evils
of Metamoor?
This
incredible second book to the series opens the characters up more
to the reader. Each girl has tests and trials that make it hard
for them to cope. The comedy relief from a computer and printer
at the beginning of the story is an immediate foreshadowing of just
how wacky and off-the-wall the lives of all five girls get. I have
become a huge fan of this series and am totally in love with the
concept of having the beginning and end in comic book form. It really
adds to the uniqueness of the series and it’s characters.
It’s quirky, cute, and charming.
