Illusions and Lies
W.I.T.C.H. series #6
Adapted by Elizabeth Lenhard

Will, Irma, Taranee, Cornelia, and Hay-Lin understand what illusions can do. They’ve had to do anything and everything they possibly can to keep anyone from finding out what they are when they’ve gotten cornered by adults with major authority. Will, though, begins to wonder what illusion her mom has that is making her turn on her. Her mom, under advice from Mr. Collins (one of Will’s teachers who seems to have it out for her for some reason), refuses to allow Will to compete in the school swimming championships. On top of that, for some reason, the girls are becoming more and more on edge with each other. It’s as if someone is plotting to split them up. There’s no way that they could’ve seen the deception and true danger of those who have gotten close to them...until a certain teacher returns to help save them from the last person they could’ve suspected.

Incredible! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS SERIES! The girls are developing relationships with people and with each other that are truly realistic. Regardless of the fantasy aspect, the five girls and their friends (as well as their enemies) are personifications of some of the realities young girls their age will face as they are pushed into the real world and discover new, strange things about themselves and what they’re truly capable of. I commend the creators of this series for being able to make such a fun, action-packed, and not to mention adorable set of characters.
