The Last Tear
W.I.T.C.H.
Series, No. 5
Adapted by Elizabeth
Lenhard
Being guardians
of the veil is becoming harder than the girls ever imagined. Between
trying to keep the metamoorian monsters from invading their world
as well as trying to keep their secret and the veil a secret from
the rest of Heatherfield, the five girls have more on their hands
than they could’ve ever bargained for.
What makes it worse
is having to clean up the mess that their astral drops made while
they were in Meridian trying to rescue Taranee. Will has to calm
things with her friend/crush Matt after her drop kissed him then
SLAPPED him, and Irma is forced to go on a date with Martin Tubbs
after her drop accepted his plea.
And
just when things COULDN’T get any worse . . . the girls stumble
across a secret about a portal in the museum that has Phobos and
his cronies racing to destroy them and the one thing that can break
Phobos’ ancient curse before the girls can get their hands
on it and save innocent people.
This is definitely
worth the wait! The girls become more and more 3-dimensional as
the series continues. I love this interaction and dialogue. Each
character, both main and minor, has such individualistic characteristics
that they seem more real than most of the people I know! It’s
a wonderful continuation of the hilariously adorable adventures
and reality-altering life lessons these five girls experience.
