Mason Moves Away
Solomon Raven Series, No. 4
By Amy Crane Johnson
Illustrated by Robb Mommaerts

Mason had a beautiful beaver dam and lodge, but something, or someone destroyed it, and now Mason is trying frantically to build it again. Solomon Raven knew that there had been no wind or storm. He decided to check with the other animals to see what they might know.

When he found that people were moving into the woods, and construction was underway, he gathered the forest friends to tell them. Solomon told Mason that he should find a new place to live, because people would keep tearing his lodge apart. The animals and birds help Mason find a new place to live where there are no people.

Moving away and leaving friends is difficult, but Mason also learns good things about moving, such as finding new friends. Solomon explains that there will always be change, and that a balance must exist between humans and wildlife.

Raven Tree Press specializes in bilingual books for young children. The text is in both English and Spanish. These books are wonderful supplementary material for teaching Spanish to English speaking children, or English to Spanish language students. The last page is a glossary that gives both the English and Spanish version of vocabulary words. A home schooler's dream come true.

The story is action packed and fun to read with lovable characters. The whimsical illustrations by Robb Mommaerts add so much to the story. The expressions on the animal's faces are priceless. This would be a wonderful read aloud project for your child.
