A Mother's Promise
By Lisa Humphrey
Illustrated by David Danioth
Lisa
Humphrey was inspired to write A Mothers Promise
when her friend wondered if the world was too frightening
and hazardous to bring a new life into it. Lisas stirring
message is presented here in the form of a gentle poem. A mother
talks to her unborn child in this beautifully written book
about the bond that develops between a mother and child, and
the world around them. It is a book filled with strong
feelings of love, and the love of life. Lisa's gentle poetry
is bound to touch your soul, as it has mine, with its promise of
a better world for all of us.
David
Danioth's amazing illustrations provide just the right atmosphere
for Lisa's poetry. Each page touches the senses with
strong emotions. David dedicated his first book, The Tree,
to "All mothersthe givers and unconditional nurturers
of life," so this book was in keeping with David's philosophy,
and begged for his stirring illustrations.
As with
all the books from Illumination Arts, a portion of the profits will
be donated to the Children's Global Foundation, a nonprofit organization
dedicated to global peace and to helping homeless children worldwide.
This
book would be an ideal conversation starter for family night, or
to read aloud at bedtime.
