Space Cat
(I Can
Read Book)
By Doug Cushman
Move
over Flash Gordon, Space Cat’s here, and he’s ready
to entertain and amuse the next generation of Space enthusiasts.
Space
Cat and his robot, Earl, are flying home in their rocket. Something
terrible happens to the rocket on the way to earth. Space Cat has
to land on a planet he doesn’t recognize and talk with a king
he’s never met. The BIG, green king wants Space Cat to stay
on his planet. What will Space Cat and Earl do? Will they ever see
earth again?
Space
Cat is a selection of the “I Can Read Book” series,
a series every child should be introduced to. The illustrations
are bright and fun to look at, and the sentences easy to sound out
and comprehend.
Cushman dedicates
his book to Flash Gordon, Fritz Lang and the crew of the Starship
Enterprise. A colorful Flash Gordon comes to mind as I look at Space
Cat. Cushman does a wonderful job of bringing Space down to earth
for the little ones. Highly recommended.
