To Scratch a Thief
The
Stink Files: Dossier 002
By Holm and Hamel
James Edward
Bristlefur is back and on the trail of the fiends that killed his
former owner, Sir Archibald, an agent for MI9, and defaced his tags,
changing his destination from Norway to New Jersey. The clues left
by the culprit -- the defaced tags, the white whisker, and the tin
of Norwegian cookies that poisoned Sir Archibald – were all
left for him to find. How is this possible? With the help of his
connections (which include dogs, rats, and other animals normally
not known for their cooperation with cats), Bristlefur, otherwise
known by his American counterparts as “Stink”, sets
off to find out who was trying to get rid of him and why. He could’ve
never guessed, though, how well-planned (and well-monitored) the
plans of this mysterious mastermind are turning out to be –
especially when he finds himself plummeting down a deep metal shaft,
straight for a whirling fan with sharp, deadly blades!
I LOVE STINK!
His humor and personality are just two of the many brilliant things
about this series. I was thrilled when I got the chance to review
the first one and jumped at the chance to read this one, as well.
It’s packed with adventures and the kind of humor that has
quickly made Sir James Edward Bristlefur my favorite cat for life!
There are enough lead-ins in the beginning for those who haven’t
read the first one to be able to understand Stink’s plight,
but I’d recommend you read the first one anyway. The more
Stink you have (in this case, anyway) the better!
