Yelly Kelly - Kelly, El Griton
By Nancy Rose Sweetland
Illustrated by Robert Sweetland
Translated by Traduccion por Eida de la Vega

There are times when everyone might yell...bee-stings, if you hit your thumb with a hammer, or if someone is going to steal your marbles, but Kelly yells all the time for no reason at all. He yelled when he could only find one shoe, and when his mother washed his face. Sometimes he yelled "Mom!", and sometimes he just yelled noise. Mom, Dad and little Sister decide to ignore Kelly, because most of the time, he was yelling for no reason.

What happens next is a lesson for everyone. When Kelly really needs help, everyone thinks he's just yelling again.

Robert Sweetland's expressive colored pencil and pastel illustrations help provide the laughs in this cute story that is told in both English and Spanish. Raven Tree Publishing specializes in bilingual reading materials for early readers. The last page in the book has a vocabulary listing in both English and Spanish, along with a pronunciation guide for the Spanish words. This book would be a great addition to the school curriculum, or for home school libraries.
