Secret of Abbott's Cave

By Max Elliot Anderson

Randy, Stewart, Jeff, and Hal were very excited about their newly formed detective club, and anxious to get the police scanner that they had raised the money to purchase. They would be able to keep up on all the excitement of real crimes in the area and all the police and fire department action.

Most of the radio transmissions were just dull routine things, but then there was a robbery at a local bank, and the robbers escaped with a bag of money.

The boys were planning a camping trip to investigate a cave for a science project at school. The action gets fast and furious when their camping trip is interrupted by the robbers hiding their loot. Will the boys be able to outwit the robbers? A complete "10-code" for police departments and fire signal code is contained in the back of the book.

Anderson is a very prolific writer of adventure for reluctant readers, with compelling characters who always manage to get into hot water. He tells the stories from a Christian perspective with moral lessons magically woven into the fiber of the story.

This story would make a wonderful read-aloud story for family time, and will have the kids begging for more.
