The
Tommy Books Volumes 1-5
Faith,
Love, Too Busy, Praise, & Kings
by Mark Brown
Written by renowned screenwriter, Mark Brown, this Christian children's series is perfect
for parents and grandparents who want to impart the tenets of the Christian faith in a
memorable, fun, and beautifully illustrated format. And if the brightly colored illustrations
look slightly familiar, it's because they are the work of widely recognized and lauded illustrator,
Pete Mekis, who gave us "Dora the Explorer", "The Angry Beavers" and "Charlotte's Web 2".
In Volume Five, "Kings", as in each successive volume, Mark Brown uses easy-to-read rhymes,
and explains in simple terminology, the concept of Jesus as King, offering at the end of
the book, the scripture on which its truth is based.
And as if that weren't enough reason to purchase this series, it's encouraging to know
that a portion of the proceeds from The Tommy Books goes to support the author's own favorite
charity--The National Association for Orphans and Abandoned Children, of which he is
the founder.
This series is geared for children between the ages of three and ten.
Kudos to both author and illustrator for meeting an important market need with a classy
and truly appealing series. In fact, this reviewer can't wait to begin cuddling up to
read this series with her own darling grandchildren. |
