Who's
Not Asleep
By
Shirley Hillard
The
simple story, repetition, and bold colors in this picture book are
sure to be a hit with toddlers and preschool age children. The first
spread features eight recognizable animals who are having fun at
night. The subsequent spreads show each animal awake and then asleep.
It concludes with a little girl looking out the window of her house
at all the animals asleep in the yard. Then the little girl is cozily
tucked into bed, "Goodnight, honey".
This
book would make a nice bedtime story for very young children and
can also serve as a book teaching opposites: awake and asleep. I
would recommend this as a good book to have on the shelf for bedtime
reading.
